Jones Contract Completes Mt Rushmore, Big 12 Tourney Set, Self's Tough Year, Soccer Stadium Panned, Trump Meets Family, Bartron Killer Not Charged

   The Chiefs signing stud D-Lineman Chris Jones to a new contract completes this Chiefs era's Mt. Rushmore that has produced three Super Bowls and counting.  Mahomes, Andy, Kelce and Chris Jones are forever connected in greatness.
   The Big 12 tourney is on with beautiful weather forecast but some murky hoops being played by the biggest local draws.  Kansas lost it's worst conference game ever under Bill Self as he's having his worst year.  We discuss how this could be happening when he has two first team All Big 12 players on his team.
   It's not just a gravel parking lot as the new women's soccer stadium is being criticized before it's first game this weekend.  Sounds like they sold us something major league when the media forgot this is still a minor league sport.  Wait until you hear what fans are complaining about.

   The best description I heard about Joe Biden's State of the Union speech was, "Old Yeller."  He was and he was a total disaster.  We count the ways including being forced by  Marjorie Taylor Greene to finally acknowledge Laken Riley's murder... and Biden blew that.  Horrifically. Trump's reaction to it all was spot on including an incredible prediction, live, what the media would do as Biden continued to cough into his hand.
   Also, a Gold Star dad was taken out of the chamber for shouting "Abbey Gate" where his son was killed in the withdrawal from Afghanistan.  Then they arrested the man.  This has to be dismissed ASAP.
   KU visits Houston on Saturday, we'll get www.dannyclinkscale.com thoughts on the matchup.  UMKC is the #2 seed in the Summit League tourney starting Saturday and could make the Big Dance and Iron Mike Tyson is heading back into the ring in a very, very big way.

   San Francisco is cracking down on crack addicts and criminals, there's a silly CBB controversy over a Bill Self handshake and Saturday Night Live has apparently dropped wokeness for ratings with conservative, straight white hosts two weeks in a row.  A blond bombshell let it all hang out and has 68 million online views.

   Our big headlines begin with Donald Trump rolling through Super Tuesday and Nikki Haley calling it quits.  
   In Lawrence, the Jayhawks looked incredible against K-State as Hunter Dickinson and Kevin McCullar set a defensive tone that's just impossible to deal with.
   Mayor Q and his staff put out a video of them all reading a transgender book for kids, it's not only bad content, it's bush league trying to pull it off.  An illegal kills a state trooper in Washington, Tyreek Hill claims the Dolphins and Ravens are better than the Chiefs and Doritos has a Bud Light moment.

   Mayor Q has some bad ideas for the Country Club Plaza, even as cops look for thieves that stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry.  AOC gets heckled in public over her stance on Palestine.  A study proves EV's are worse for the environment than gas cars.  What?
  In sports, KSU visits Allen Field House as both teams are searching for something more.  La'Jarius Sneed gets the franchise tag from the Chiefs and Royals starter Cole Ragans is becoming  a major story around Major League Baseball
 

Big Week for Trump, 60 Minutes Hits Biden, Stigall Slams Gov, Self's Worst Year, UMKC Surprises

   It's a big week for Donald Trump as the Supreme Court rules to put him on the ballot in Colorado and other states.  Super Tuesday is going to be a super sweep for the former Prez as the primary that never really started pretty much ends.  At the same time, Joe Biden in under fire from liberal media including 60 Minutes and NBC.
   Chris Stigall took to X to hammer Missouri governor Mike Parson over the weekend after Parson commuted the sentence of Brit Reid.
   There was a whole lot of losing in college basketball Saturday as KU is having it's worst year ever under Bill Self.  KSU and MU flopped, too.  But can you believe it?  UMKC is surging all the way up to the number two seed in their conference tourney next week and they've got a real shot to go dancing.

  Senator Josh Hawley just flat out unloaded on the Turtle, Mitch McConnell in an interview with www.heartlandernews.com questioning why the 82 year old can't quit today instead of November. This is an epic beat down and of course, Josh Hawley is right again.
   Trump and Biden visit the border for two different stories.  Biden literally brought up climate change while Trump is talking about calling Laken Riley's parents and giving illegal alien crime stats that are shocking.  You couldn't have a bigger contrast in choices this year.
   Lenexa and Johnson County want to spend $10 million renovating a couple buildings at 95th and I-35 to import homeless people.  This is clever.
  Andy Reid said a couple really, really honest and profound thing in a one on one side bar interview yesterday at the scouting combine, I'll play it for you.
  Bill Self has his best one liner of the season when asked about Iowa's Caitlyn Clark.  Lee's Summit North coach Jamar Mozee is leaving for a college job and it sounds like his son may follow him. 
  And one country becomes the first to legalize pot and then make it illegal again.

Chiefs Have Rough Day, Gangs Shot up Crown Center, SCOTUS to Hear Trump Case, Turtle Slowly Resigns, CFP Predictable Expansion

   The Chiefs had a rough day Wednesday showing us all they are better on the field than off.  The owner got rated dead last in the NFL by his own players and the "reimagined"  Arrowhead is underwhelming at best.  It seemed hurried and forced and not much of a reason for taxpayers to hand them a half billion dollars unless there is a real threat they would move. 
   We finally got to see the word "gang" from officials in Jackson County related to shooting arrests.  Two men from the East Side Gang were charged in the Crown Center shooting where at least 54 shots were fired, 3 bystanders were injured and racial slurs were flying everywhere.  Oh, but they also refer to the conflict being between "two groups" and only mention the two arrested as gang members.  Comical.
   The Supreme Court will hear President Trump's case for immunity on April 22.  The Turtle, Mitch McConnell is out as leader of GOP Senators, but not fast enough and the College Football Playoff wants an expansion to their expansion to benefit the SEC and Big Ten.  Go figure....

   We thought this was behind the Kansas Jayhawks after strong performances at OU and a home beatdown of Texas.  But no, KU seems to have a gear that gets stuck at critical points in a game and it happened again Tuesday as BYU won at Allen Fieldhouse.
   Local politico Preston Smith, a conservative, has released a report every voter considering a downtown ballpark should read at www.tonyskansascity.com as it debunks many points the Royals make.  But the real shocker is the crime statistics within one mile of the new site.  I promise you won't believe these insane crime numbers.
   On my long walk with Cabo Tuesday, a song from 1980 by rock band STYX came on and the words could have been written today.  Wait until you hear what the band had to say when Jimmy Carter was president.
   Mecole Hardman goes on a podcast and suggests the Chiefs may have tampered with him to get him from the Jets, La'Jarius Sneed is likely to get the franchise tag and Tyreek Hill has bizarre new legal trouble.
   Also, Kansas State has surprisingly great odds in Vegas to make the College Football Playoff and illegal alien crimes are starting to get reported everywhere.
