Dark October Surprise, Brookside Crime Spree, Yankees Haunt R's Fans, Chris Jones Leads D, Lee Sterling Picks, Song of the Week

   We could be experiencing the October surprise this week and not even know it because it's so dark and nefarious. Of course I'm the guy that will bring it up.

   In KCMO they are blaming all the crime on everything except a city hall that's not a fan of the police department.  The latest?  Brookside residents want the National Guard called in.

  If you're of a certain age, your childhood as a sports fan was defined by Royals/Yankees playoff series' and it was mostly awful.  Walk off home runs, storming the field, Billy Martin messing with George Brett and homer Howard Cosell calling all the big games.  It was dreadful.  This series could help erase whatever 1980's win over the Bombers did not.
